2016 Australian Junior Championships

TRANS TASMAN – January 2016

U12G Anna Cahill participated in LANSW’s Trans Tasman tour to New Zealand in January 2016. Part athletics and part education, the tour offers U11 and U12 NSW athletes the opportunity to compete against international opposition and to experience a different country and cultures. Anna competed in the High Jump event and performed well in all three carnivals.  She finished equal 4th in the first carnival (in dreadful weather conditions), 2nd in the second carnival (clearing a new PB of 1.39m and a highly creditable equal 4th in the Trans Tasman Challenge.

TRANS TASMAN 2015

The Trans Tasman Challenge was held at Campbelltown Athletics Track on Sunday, 18 January 2015.U12B Jonathan Friend and U11G Zara Warland both had a great day against the team from Auckland!Jonathan finished 3rd in the 400m, and Zara finished in the top 10 in all 4 of her events!Congratulations, athletes!

All SCHOOLS 12G 80m HURDLES 2014

TRANS TASMAN CHALLENGE 2014:

We welcome back Brooke Niccol, Lara Woollett, Jasmine Rheinberger and Erin Cahill
Brooke, Lara, Jasmine and Erin – Trans Tasman 2014who recently returned from Little Athletics NSW’s 2014 Trans Tasman Tour to New Zealand, for athletes in the Under 11 and Under 12 age groups. The girls had a fantastic time with some great results achieved and several personal bests set at the 3 athletics carnivals, many interesting and fun places visited, and good friendships established with the other athletes.

AUSTRALIAN CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009:

Congratulations to Beth Croft who achieved 3rd place in the Girls 12 Years at the Australian National Cross Country Championships that were held at Nowra on Saturday, 29 August 2009. Beth was very excited to have finally cracked an individual national cross country medal! The NSW team also achieved a Gold medal in Beth’s age group.

PACIFIC SCHOOL GAMES 2008:

Congratulations to Larissa Pasternatsky who achieved 3 Gold Medals for the 4x100M U17G Relay (47.16 sec), 100M U17G (in PSG record 11.71 sec) and in the 200M U17G (24.10 sec which was 0.01s outside the PSG record). We are proud of her achievements, building on her enjoyable, formative years with HDLAC. Congratulations also to Courtney Cross who achieved 2 Bronze Medals in the U14G 90H (13.24 sec) and in the U14G Long Jump (5.57 metres), and to Beth Croft who achieved a Bronze Medal in the U11G 800 metres (2-26.87 m-ss.ss).

TRANS TASMAN CHALLENGE 2009:

Congratulations to U11Gs Lauren Bassett, Maddy Jones and Brianna McKee, and to U12B Anthony Overton, who were selected at Barden Ridge, Illawong on 2 Nov 08 to represent NSW at the Trans Tasman Challenge in Sydney on 18 January next year. Congratulations to you all!

NATIONAL SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY 2008:

Two of our athletes turned in sound performances at the National Schools Cross Country Championships in Geelong over the weekend of 22-24 August. In the 3000m Cross Country Run, U11G Beth Croft placed 5th, and U11B Jack Collett placed 9th. Beth and Jack were also part of the NSW U11 1500m Cross Country Relay Teams. The Boys’ team achieved a Gold Medal and the Girls’ team won Silver. Well done, Beth and Jack!
