REGION 5 INFORMATION - 2013

Everything you ever wanted to know about Region
The Regional Championships are all held on the third full weekend in February each year and athletes in the age groups U8 through to U17 are eligible to compete. In 2013, Region will take place over the weekend of 16-17 February.
Qualifying to the Regional Championships is via performances at the Zone Championships.
There are 8 Regions and Region 5 comprised the North and North East Metropolitan Zones. The first 2 places at each of the 8 Regions will progress to the State Championships that will be held over the weekend 22-24 March. LANSW then selects the next best 8 clear final performances from across all Regions, making a total of up to 24 athletes in each event at State.
You can download the Region 5 Program, the Region 5 Qualifiers by Centre and by Event. You can also download the Hornsby Parent Roster. Any queries about the Parent Roster, or about Region generally, should be directed to our Championships Officer, Peter Brown, on 0416‑008‑537 or by e-mail.
There will not be an opportunity to try on State T-shirts for size at Region (as in previous years). State T-shirts are optional and are available at SOPAC each day from the HARTS display stall for $25.00 each or athletes can order directly by contacting HARTS following qualifying as a competitor to the State Championships in March.
On arrival at Narrabeen, athletes should report to Championship Officer, Peter Brown, who will give each family a program booklet and direct parents to their assigned duty area. Peter will also have spare number '4' patches for any athlete not having one. Look for our Orange Shade Shelter.
There is a $5 Region levy per competing athlete - this has been paid by the Centre.
You can now download the latest Region 5 information and the not-before times that have been published. You can also download diagrams showing the layout of the Academy of Sport at Narrabeen.

What other Zones and Centres will be competing?
Region 5 comprises 2 Zones, and 10 Centres and Clubs, as follows:
NORTHERN METROPOLITAN ZONE: Cherrybrook, North Rocks/Carlingford, Northern Suburbs, Parramatta and Ryde.
