IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER! Although our Registration Day has passed, it's not too late to register for the 2010/2011 season. The easiest ways are to register ON-LINE or by MAIL (see below). As a last resort, you can register on the first days of competition (but you can expect to be in a queue). The Registrar will be at the Oval on Friday 10 September from 5:00pm until 7:00pm to check proof of age (if required for new members) and to hand out Rego Packs for those who've registered on-line.

LITTLE ATHLETICS is a fun, friendly summer sport. Over 350 girls and boys come to Pennant Hills No. 2 Oval (Ern Holmes Oval) to join in a range of track and field events and spend the morning with their friends.

Hornsby District Little Athletics Centre [HDLAC]is one of 200 Little Athletics Centres spread across the state that are oversighted by the Little Athletics Association of NSW. A proportion of our registration fees provide the funding of this Association affiliation.

Family, fun and fitness are the main objectives of Hornsby Little Athletics. Girls and boys from 5 to 16 years, as at 30 September 2010, can have fun with exciting and new friends, acquire sport skills and fitness and learn the value of effort and reward. There is also a special program for 'TINY TOTS' (for 'tiny' athletes who turn three by 30 September 2010).

Download the 2010/2011 REGISTRATION form (41kB pdf), the Working With Children DECLARATION form (199kB pdf), the Parent OBLIGATION form (52kB pdf) and MEDICAL questionnaire (9kB pdf) and the Centre PRICE LIST (33kB pdf). Click HERE to download Adobe Acrobat Reader (if necessary). Completing these forms beforehand will save you time on the day! You can also register and pay your registration fees on line (see below).

TRIALISTS: If you or your child are unsure about whether you want to commit to a season of Little Athletics, you can come to the Centre on a competition morning as a TRIALIST for $5 per attendance. You can trial twice without registering - after that, we would ask you to join the Centre and pay the appropriate registration fee, minus the $10 you already paid. Note that, for insurance purposes, we require you to complete a Trialist Details form (10kB pdf) which you may download and bring with you to the oval. Trialing athletes should present properly attired (joggers, hat, sunblock) and with a drink bottle. Note that trialists are not eligible for Centre awards or records and will not receive a event result ticket. Trialists' competition results are NOT counted towards competition points or star awards.

Enter the following table with the month and year of birth to establish the child's age group for the 2010/2011 season. Details on the Coming Events page.

REGISTRATION BY MAIL: Download the above forms, fill them in, and forward them along with a cheque for the required amount to the Registrar at the postal address shown above.

ONLINE REGISTRATION: All athletes registering this season have the option of paying online using the Little Athletics NSW Centre Registration System or by making a manual payment to HDLAC on one of the registration days. Please note that your registration will remain pending until payment has been received. Click HERE to register online.

NORMAL REGISTRATION: If you elect the SUBMIT APPLICATION & PAY ONLINE option after completing the details please present your Membership Registration Application with receipt number to the Registrar of Hornsby District Little Athletics Centre, Mel Jones, on Registration Day. If you elect the SUBMIT APPLICATION ONLY option after completing the details please present your Membership Registration Application and Invoice to the Registrar of Hornsby District Little Athletics Centre on Registration Day.

FAMILY REGISTRATION: Family registrations for two or more children can only be completed for children that are Under 7s and above who are not applying for dual registration. If one of your children is a Tiny Tot, or is Under 6, please contact our Centre Registrar, Mal Warland, who will calculate your Family Registrations fees. Please complete the following details to register online with your selected Centre. If you elect the SUBMIT APPLICATION & PAY ONLINE option after completing the details please present your Membership Registration Application with receipt number to the Registrar of Hornsby District Little Athletics Centre on Registration Day. If you elect the SUBMIT APPLICATION ONLY option after completing the details please present your Membership Registration Application and Invoice to the Registrar of Hornsby District Little Athletics Centre.

DUAL REGISTRATION: U13-U17 athletes already registered with Athletics NSW for the 2010/2011 season can also be registered in the under 13 age group with Little Athletics. Because you have registered previously with Athletics NSW your registration is known as a Dual Registration and is at a reduced rate. Dual Registration is only available for Under 13 to Under 17 athletes. Please note: Dual registrations only offer the "SUBMIT APPLICATION ONLY" option after completing your details. There is no online payment option as the HDLAC fee component is variable, depending on your Senior Club fee. Please contact our Centre Registrar to calculate your Membership Fee or, alternately, complete the following details to register online and then present your Membership Registration Application and payment on Registration Day. Download the Dual Registration brochure (620kB pdf)

TRIAL PERIOD MEMBER: For children joining Little Athletics for the first time who would like to try before joining there is a trial period of two weeks to allow children to determine if they would like to continue for the full season. If you wish to register for the trial period, please select this category and completed the following details and then select the SUBMIT APPLICATION ONLY option. Then just turn up at the first competition week and you will placed in your group (no uniform required at this stage, just comfortable shorts and top). At the end of the two weeks trial, if you wish to continue, Centre officials will complete the registration and calculate the amount due. You will be required to provide proof of age documentation (eg birth certificate, passport etc.) to the Centre Registrar at this time. Note: The $5.00 per week Trialist Fee (for a maximum of 2 weeks) will be deducted from your Membership Fees should you elect to continue for the full season.

HORNSBY CENTRE gives awards to all children to recognize their efforts and successes and to provide an incentive for improvement. The awards include PB (personal best), canteen awards for improvement in track and/or field events and star awards for improvement in a combination of track and field events.

PARENT PARTICIPATION adds greatly to a child's enjoyment of athletics. It is essential that parents assist with equipment, marshalling and recording. Parents will be given instructions on how to carry out these tasks, and their support is encouraged. It is necessary that a parent assist one week in two, a reasonable requirement for most families.
