Summer athletics season
Our 2011/2012 season will commence on Saturday, 10 September 2011. Our first week of competition will be for U7-U17 athletes only. Tiny Tots and U6 athletes will start the following week on Saturday, 17 September.
It's not too late to register!
If you missed our two registration days, don't worry - you can register at the oval on a Saturday morning before competition starts. All registrations will be done on-line through the LANSW On-line System and the Centre will provide computer facilities at the oval. As well as your registration, you will also complete a Working With Children declaration, a Parent Obligation form and a Medical Questionnaire for each athlete. You will also have the opportunity to try on and purchase Centre uniforms. If you're registering for the first time, don't forget to bring Proof of Age for each child - either a birth certificate or a current passport. The oval is located in Britannia Street, Pennant Hills, there's plenty of parking and there'll be signs showing where to go. More...

You can save time by registering on-line at home. Manual registration
If you're unable or reluctant to register and pay on-line you can register manually by downloading the Manual Registration form (65kB pdf). You can complete this form and bring it to the oval on Registration Day to complete your registration and pay your registration fees. Note that there will be a surcharge of $5 per manual registration (with up to 3 children per form). We do, however, encourage you to register on-line.
Tiny Tots
Children born between 1 October 2006 and 30 September 2007 (being 4 years of age as at 30 September 2011) may register in the Tiny Tots age group. They will participate in play training and gross motor skill activities. Children born between 1 October 2007 and 30 September 2008 (being 3 years of age as at 30 September 2011) CAN ONLY REGISTER in the Tiny Tots age group if they have a sibling registered with the Hornsby Centre.
Trialists
If you or your child are unsure about whether you want to commit to a season of Little Athletics, you can come to the Centre on a competition morning as a TRIALIST. There will be no charge for trialling, and you can trial once without registering. After that, we would ask you to join the Centre and pay the appropriate registration fee. Note that, for insurance purposes, we require you to complete a Trialist Details form (9kB pdf) which you may download and bring with you to the oval. Trialing athletes should present properly attired (joggers, hat, sunblock) and with a drink bottle. Note that trialists are not eligible for Centre awards or records and will not receive a event result ticket, and Trialists' competition results are NOT counted towards competition points or star awards.
Dual registration
U13-U17 athletes already registered with Athletics NSW for the 2011/2012 season can also be registered in the under 13 age group with Little Athletics. Because you have registered previously with Athletics NSW your registration is known as a Dual Registration and is at a reduced rate. Dual Registration is only available for Under 13 to Under 17 athletes. Please contact our Centre Registrar to calculate your Membership Fee or, alternately, complete the details to register online and then present your Membership Registration Application and payment on Registration Day. Download the Dual Registration brochure (620kB pdf).

Parent participation
Involvement of parents or guardians adds greatly to a child's enjoyment of athletics. It is essential that parents assist with equipment, marshalling and recording. Parents will be given instructions on how to carry out these tasks, and their support is encouraged.
It is necessary that a parent assist one week in two, a reasonable requirement for most families. Download the Parent declaration form (52kB pdf)
Uniforms
Hornsby athletes are required to wear a uniform. These are available for purchase at registration. More...
