LITTLE ATHLETICS is a fun, friendly summer sport.
Over 400 girls and boys come to Pennant Hills No. 2 Oval (Ern Holmes
Oval) to join in a range of track and field events and spend the
morning with their friends.
Family, fun and fitness are the main objectives of
Hornsby Little Athletics. Girls and boys from 5 to 16 years, as
at 30 September 2009, can have fun with exciting and new friends,
acquire sport skills and fitness and learn the value of effort and
reward. There is also a special program for 'TINY TOTS' (for 'tiny' athletes who turn three by 30 September 2009).
HORNSBY CENTRE gives awards to all children
to recognize their efforts and successes and to provide an incentive
for improvement. The awards include PB (personal best), canteen
awards for improvement in track and/or field events and star awards
for improvement in a combination of track and field events.
PARENT PARTICIPATION adds greatly to a child's
enjoyment of athletics. It is essential that parents assist with
equipment, marshalling and recording. Parents will be given instructions
on how to carry out these tasks, and their support is encouraged.
It is necessary that a parent assist one week in two, a reasonable
requirement for most families. Download the Parent OBLIGATION form (52kB pdf)
