Ladies and Gents,
We are delighted to confirm that our U12, U15 and 35-49 age groups are sitting in the top 5 places of the leaderboard and have qualified for the FINAL!!
The fun now begins as we select our team, and as per prior information we tread a careful balance of performance and participation. If I told you how many hours were spent discussing and debating our team selection you wouldn't believe me! This year, depending on your age group/gender, not everyone who competed in a round can be selected for the team. Volunteers will be required, so if you want to be part of the army in a non-competing way, please let us know if you'd like to join the party and volunteer - or just join Craig's cowbell army and come and support.
Here are the specifics:
- The timetable has the U12s and Masters competing between 11am and 2:30pm. The U15s will compete between 3pm and 6:30pm.
- You must have participated in AT LEAST 1 Treloar round to be eligible for selection (ANSW ruling).
- We need 2 scoring athletes in the following events (2 Male and 2 Female): 100m, 400m, 1500m, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot, Javelin, 2x100m and 4x200m (mixed). For non-relay track events, 3 athletes can participate and the fastest 2 count for scoring. For relays and field events, only 2 athletes per club may participate.
- Selection will consider optimal team performance as well as commitment to the Treloar series. Preferred events will be taken into consideration, but Hornsby Athletes should always be willing to take one for the team and do any event you are selected for.
To reduce the workload on our team managers, please confirm your availability. We need to know a HARD YES if you are available, and it also helps us if you respond with a NO if you can't make it so we don't have to chase you. If you are a MAYBE - as in, if arms were twisted you could come but you are happy to sit it out, please respond MAYBE.
There is no entry fee for the Grand Final, so you can save your money for the post event party!
